The lens module is used together with the ALPA 12 FPS or ALPA Silex combined with ALPA ELA (Electronic Lens Adapter). Both the electromechanical diaphragm of the lenses for the Contax 645 can be controlled as well as the motorized focusing.

When used with Silex and ELA on an adjustable ALPA body, shift movements within the scope of the image circle (approx. 70 mm) and the digital back / sensor size are possible.
