The historic OSRAM factory in Berlin-Spandau is a UNESCO World Heritage monument and was built in 1927 in the New Objectivity style. A heritage-protected refurbishment of the buildings is currently being planned by the architectural firm David Chipperfield. This gave Alexander Schippel the unique opportunity to photographically capture the interim state before the renovation.
