A great designer and photographer has passed away.
The world-famous German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld passed away at the age of 85. Chanel announced this on Tuesday at Lagerfeld's birthplace Hamburg. Lagerfeld was the celebrated "creative director for life" at Chanel since 1983. Always ahead of his time, he exhibited the ALPA 12 SWA in 1998 at his personal request in his own "Royaume", the Lagerfeld Gallery at the Rue du Seine in Paris. The Lagerfeld Gallery boutiques in Paris and Monaco were created with the help of Andrée Putman. Lagerfeld showed and sold his exclusive fashion here alongside selected Fendi articles, books and photographs. Lagefeld was a passionate designer and photographer and used his ALPA cameras for personal projects.
The celebrated and unforgettable fashion tzar died on 19 February 2019 in Neuilly-sur-Seine/France. RIP Karl.
