Firmware 5.11 - Exposure Lock
Firmware for ALPA 12 FPS and Silex

The new version of the firmware for the ALPA 12 FPS and ALPA Silex Mk II offers a more differentiated “Long Exposure” mode (LE) besides constant improvements...

EXPOSURE LOCK (ELOCK)
Some digital backs, like the Phase One IQ4 150, require more time to write the data from the cache to the storage medium. Besides, storage media can have different write speeds. An activated exposure lock (selectable from 1 to 20 seconds) can prevent erroneous exposures. After the exposure and a possible “BLACKREF,” the feature adds a corresponding safety delay before the next exposure can be taken.

With the introduction of exposure lock, we have also blocked the release button (same with a release via cable and web interface) during an exposure. Only after exposure, backreference, and exposure lock have expired, the display illumination returns, and the camera allows the next exposure. This behavior is now a general feature.

LONG EXPOSURE (LE)
The exposure times and f-stops are strictly stable and, therefore, double or halve per EV step. Even with smaller step widths, they strictly followed the EV logic. The longest directly selectable exposure time is 128 seconds.

At the customer’s request, we have now installed a particular long-time exposure function. This new function is selected in the bracketing menu and, like the other modes, switched on/off by pressing the right arrow key for a long time.

The long-time exposure function allows preselecting the exposure time from 8/1000 seconds up to 69 minutes, 59 seconds, 999 hundredths of a second. The requested time is efficiently set per digit.

SYNC PROGRAMS
We have again optimized the synchronous programs, especially for the IQ4 digital backs. Please delete all old sync programs and replace them with the new versions.
